So, you've got a lift, new tires and wheels, and a host of new equipment on your TJ. You start to notice a lack of power. This is common after a vehicle has been modified with larger tires. The best solution to cure this problem is changing the gear ratio back to what it was with factory tires still installed. Here's an example: a 3.07:1 ratio with oe 28" tires is now the same as 2.61:1 with your new 33" tires. To change this, we must replace the current ring & pinions with a lower ratio. This same vehicle will need a 3.73:1 to bring it back as close to stock ratio as possible. If trailriding is what you're after , then a 33" tire will feel more at home with a 4.10:1. This solution will cover most ratios. The parts that are included in this solution are front and rear ring/pinions, bearing kits, differential carriers, gear lube and labor. A 500mi service is necessary for proper break in and is not included in the price.
