This solution is very similar to the TJ gearing solution in that the goal is a better performing vehicle after a lift and larger tires have been installed. If your XJ is equipped with the 30/35 combo then it is best to refer to the TJ package since the axle components are the same. XJs came equipped with either a reverse cut 30 or a short pinion 30 and most have a Chrysler 8.25" rear axle if built post 91. The difference lies in the gear cost itself. There have been some shortage in 8.25" R/Ps and therefore we've chosen to use what is referred to as an OE gear manufactured by Strange/US Gear. The R/P solution for XJ's also requires a break in period of 500mi. which is not included in the cost. This solution is a 4.10 or 4.56 ratio which will but power back in your XJ. Most common use of this package solution is one that originally came with 3.55s and has gone up in tire size to 31-32"(4.10) or 33-35"(4.56). Other ratios are available. Call for a quote.
Customer Reviews:
John Creswell (Saturday, 03 February 2007) Rating: I love my gears! Great product, XJ cruises up East Tennessee hills with ease and pulls off the line with vengence. I also suggest PowerTrax No-slip lockers as well, since you're already in there. Really makes for a formidable truck ready for anything you can throw at it... like say 200lbs of extra body weight in bumpers, gear, skids, and rock rails. Check 'em out for sure!
